Saint Francis Medical Center will provide free lung-cancer screenings Sept. 17 to people ages 50 to 74 who are heavy smokers, former smokers or otherwise at risk. Patients will be screened using low-radiation CT scan technology and notified of the results within one week. No preparation is required, but patients must be preregistered. The screenings take place at the center's women's care. Appointments may be scheduled by calling (573) 331-3996.
Saint Francis Medical Center will host its annual Fall Coaches Clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the center's Fitness Plus Multipurpose Room. The clinics are designed to help coaches achieve excellence for their programs and keep athletes safe and healthy. The clinic will feature Rob Miller, and the Athletic Republic scholarship will be presented. The clinic is free; coaches, athletic trainers, school principals and school superintendents are encouraged to attend.
