The Friends for Faith golf tournament and silent auction will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Cape Girardeau Country Club. The event is a benefit to help with the medical expenses of 11-year-old Faith Moore, who was diagnosed with bone cancer. Due to an overwhelming response, registration for the four-person scramble tournament is full. The silent auction from noon to 2 p.m. at the club is for nongolfers who wish to contribute to Faith's cause. The auction is cash or check only. Buffalo Wild Wings will provide food for the event. Judgment House, a free 10-scene walk-through drama to make people aware of the reality of heaven and hell, will take place at Miner Baptist Church in Miner, Mo. Judgment House tours will be held Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Oct. 6, 9, 10, 12 and 13. Tours on Wednesday, Thursday, and Oct. 9 and 10 will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tours on Saturday and Oct. 12 will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tours on Oct. 6 and 13 will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tours will begin every 12 minutes and last one hour. Department of Conservation biologist Dave Knuth will demonstrate how to clean and cook catfish, crappie and Asian carp at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cape Riverfront Market. Knuth will also provide samples of the fish for tasting. The Cape Riverfront Market is in the parking lot at 35 S. Spanish St. next to Celebrations Downtown and across from Bel-Air Bar and Grill. October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, and The House of Refuge, a Sikeston, Mo., emergency shelter and referral service for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, will hold an online fundraiser to purchase household maintenance items and for daily operational expenses. The House of Refuge will also be collecting donations at the annual fall festival hosted by the Sikeston Depot Museum on Oct. 12.
