A photo exhibition honoring the 130 fallen Missourians who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the War On Terror is now in Cape Girardeau. Exhibition started Thursday and ends Tuesday at the Show Me Center. The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Admission is free.
The Kenny Rogers Children's Center will be participating in the KRCC 38th annual Charity Walk on Sept. 24. Walkers will meet at 9:30 a.m. at First Assembly Recreational Complex on North Ingram Road (across from Bootheel Golf) in Sikeston, Mo., for registration. The Wwlk will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will end at the First Assembly Recreational Complex, with lunch provided. Prizes this year include $50 to the top fundraisers in each county, and everyone who meets the $100 Challenge by raising $100 or more will qualify for a drawing for an Xbox 360 4G Kinnect Bundle. To qualify, participants must raise $100. For each $25 raised over the $100 marker, will receive additional chances to win an Xbox. Everyone who raises at least $25 gets a T-shirt.
Come down to the Oliver House to take part in the Quilt Tour 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 24 to 25. The tour will cover the Oliver House, Cape River Heritage Museum and the Glenn House. Tickets are available at the Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau and Jackson. Ticket prices are $5 for individual venues and $10 for two days and at all of the venues. Dr. Frank Nickell will provide a historical presentation at the Oliver House Museum from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25.
Memorial benefit dinner and silent auction for June's Kids from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at Schock's in Scott City. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3.50 for ages 10 and under, $5 for students, and free for ages 5 and under.
