Fairview General Baptist Church holding revival
Fairview General Baptist Church near Advance, Mo., will host a revival starting at 7 p.m. Monday and running through Friday. The special speaker the Rev. Kenny Burchard. The event is open to all to attend.

End-Time Bible Prophecy Conference in Scott City
The Scott City First Family and Youth Worship Center in will be hosting an End-Time Bible Prophecy Conference at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 20 through 22. The Rev. Michael Coleman will speak each night and will be sharing the relevancy of modern times of the message in the book of Revelation regarding Jesus' letters to the seven churches. The conference is open to the public with free admission, and nursery services will be provided each night. Professional fisherman to visit Cape Girardeau
Professional fisherman Mike DelVisco will share fishing tips, answer questions and signs autographs 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 23 at Texas Roadhouse. Guests can also see the Bassmaster's state-of-the-art Phoenix Bass Boat and truck. Guests can register to win a fishing prize package that includes a Tica fishing rod and reel, a selection of Yamamoto baits, lures from Secret Weapon, Pro Swimbaits and Rapala, Sufix fishing line, two Mike DelVisco instructional videos, and other items valued at more than $200. DelVisco, a full-time time professional angler on the Bassmaster Tour and PAA Tour, is a 2007 and 2008 Grand Slam and 2009 Bassmaster Series National Championship qualifier.
Baptist church hosts ice cream contest
Burfordville Baptist Church in Burfordville will host a free homemade ice cream contest and social at 6 p.m. Aug. 21. The contest is free and open to the public. Anybody who wants to participate in the competition just needs to bring a batch of ice cream to the event. The grand prize for the winner is yet to be determined. For more information, call 243-5602.
