Vendors are being sought for Downtown Daze, a two-day community festival to be held Aug. 22 and 23 in Oran, Missouri. Sellers of food, crafts, jewelry, cosmetics, canned or fresh produce, baked goods and other items are sought.

A sale to raise money for two Scott City area families who lost everything in recent house fires will be held Friday and Saturday at the VFW, 1407 Main St. in Scott City.
The home of Matt and Heather Butler was a total loss. They are the parents of five children and are expecting a another child. The home of Beulah Dunivan, which she shared with her three sons and a niece, also was a total loss after the structure was hit by lightening. Neither home was insured.

Athletic physicals available
Southeast SportsCare will offer athletic physicals during Jackson's public school enrollments. All athletes participating in a sport during the 2014–2015 school year are welcome to obtain physicals at the designated times. The cost is $25.
Times are 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Jackson High School; 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Jackson Junior High School; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson Middle School.

Skin cancer screenings offered
Dermatologist Dr. Charles Moon and nurse practitioner Heather Miller, both of Advanced Dermatology, will perform free skin cancer screenings from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Southeast Cancer Center, 789 Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau.

Scapbboking session scheduled
SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary will host a scrapbooking workshops from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Harrison Room.
Participants are invited to bring their supplies -- photos, adhesives, embellishments and tools -- and share ideas and techniques with other scrappers.

Linen sale scheduled Thursday
The Saint Francis Medical Center Auxiliary will have a linen sale from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
Available for purchase at discounted prices are used blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, footies, pads, gowns, etc. All have been thoroughly laundered and are ideal for personal and household use.

Heart, health screenings offered Wednesday
Screenings will be offered from 7 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Saint Francis Medical Center.
Heart screenings will include lipid profile plus glucose for $29, which includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cardio risk ratio plus glucose for diabetes. Health screenings will include a free blood pressure tests, glucose screening for $6 and women's osteoporosis screening for $25.
Screenings will take place in the Health and Wellness Center, Entrance 8.
