The Criddle, Stroder, Davenport and Moore 88th family reunion will begin at 11 a.m. today at the Jackson Knights of Columbus hall in the lower level. A potluck dinner will begin at noon. All families and friends are encouraged to attend.

Learn to make a duck decoy

The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will hold a course in duck decoy making from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and again from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Individuals will learn how to make a duck decoy from rough-cut cork that can possibly entice birds during a hunting trip. The women programs of Discover Nature are designed to give women and girls 14 years and older the skills and confidence to pursue a range of outdoor activities. Club hosts 2010 kickoff carnival

The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Girardeau will hold its 2010-2011 kickoff carnival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cape Girardeau Central Junior High School parking lot. Cotton candy, a dunking booth, the DARE car and two inflatable jumpy/obstacle courses will be available at the carnival. This event is free to the area children and their families. Vacation Bible school at church

The Eisleben Lutheran Church of Scott City will host the "High Seas -- Exploring the Mighty Love of God" vacation Bible school today through Thursday. Children ages 3 through grade six are invited. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the vacation Bible school will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The children will make crafts, learn songs and play games related to the daily lesson, as well as enjoy an interactive Bible story. There will be a closing program and a reception, which parents are encouraged to attend, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. For more information, call Heraleen Bowers at 450-7865.
