The Southeast Journeys Cancer Support Group will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Unity Room at Southeast Cancer Center. The group will cover educational topics from the American Cancer Society's "I Can Cope" series. The meeting will include a question-and-answer session, and offer care, support and encouragement for those battling cancer and their families or caregivers. "Healthy Footprints," a seminar on women's cancers, is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cape Girardeau Public Library. The seminar will be led by Gail Ingham, a 28-year survivor of ovarian stage IIIC cancer, and will focus on symptoms, plant diet, exercise and how to obtain a healthy body without drugs. Wesley United Methodist Church in Fruitland will host Kingdom Rocks vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 28 through Aug. 1. There will be a dinner at 6 p.m. each night, and Bible adventures, games, music, crafts and fellowship are in store for those who attend. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited. The Melaina's Magical Playland benefit golf tournament will be Aug. 9 at the Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson. The tournament will have a noon lunch and registration, and the shotgun is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The format is a four-person scramble. The entry fee is $100 per person or $400 per team, which includes greens fees, cart rental, contests, prizes, giveaways, lunch, beverages and more. Optional cash skins game and mulligans will be available at registration. The proceeds raised from this event will help bring the first public all-inclusive and fully accessible playground to Southeast Missouri. The annual Nussbaum reunion and covered-dish dinner is scheduled July 28 at the church hall of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit, Mo. Drinks and table service will be provided.
