Hobbs Chapel will host vacation Bible school for children ages 4 to 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. June 29 through July 3. An American Red Cross blood drive, hosted by SoutheastHEALTH Volunteer Services, will take place 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 1 in the Harrison Room at Southeast Hospital. An Independence Day 5K run and walk, in support of SoutheastHEALTH's children's health and wellness programs, will begin at 7:04 July 4. The Friedheim Fun Fest will be July 11 across from Trinity Lutheran Church. Proceeds will be donated to the Waylon Friese annual scholarship and the family of Teri Ruch, who is afflicted with leukemia. The day's activities include a volleyball tournament at 9 a.m., a tractor ride at 10 a.m., a potluck supper and live music at 6 p.m. and an auction at 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share, drinks and seating; table service will be provided. Saint Francis Medical Center is one of six Missouri health-care facilities to offer the Baby and Me: Tobacco Free smoking cessation sponsored by The March of Dimes and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The program rewards women who quit smoking before delivery and stay smoke free post-delivery by providing $25 in monthly diaper vouchers for each month smoke free, for up to one year postpartum.
