Cub Scout Day Camp this week

The District Wide Cub Scout Day Camp will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday at Jackson City Park. The camp is open to all Cub Scouts ages 7 to 11. The camp features various nature activities, swimming and forms of arts and crafts. The cost for camp is $50, and camp officials ask that every Cub Scout to please bring in their own sack lunches. Maevers family reunion June 27

The Maevers family reunion will be June 27 at the Jackson City Park, pavilion No. 6, which is the old swimming pool area. There will be a meal at noon, and attendees are asked bring a covered dish and lawn chairs. For more information, contact Ruth Maevers at 243-8506

Church has anniversary service

The First Baptist Church of Millersville will celebrate its 125th anniversary June 27. The scheduled activities for the day include 9:30 a.m. Sunday school, 10 a.m. morning service, a noon church potluck meal and a special service that will begin at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. David Tolliver, executive director of the Missouri Baptist Convention. 'Discover Nature Women' offered

The Missouri Department of Conservation will be teaching a course titled "Discover Nature Women" from 5:30 to 9 p.m. July 16 at Perry County Lake in Perryville, Mo. The course will teach women valuable skills of how to back up a trailer, unload a boat, respond to a boating emergency and drive a boat to safety.
