2010 Rock in the Rock Garden lineup set
The Rock Garden in Jackson City Park will host the 2010 "Rock In The Rock Garden" concerts from 7 to 9 p.m. every Friday in June. The Rock Garden is in the main City Park by the foot bridge over the creek on Cascade Drive. The concert schedule is June 4: Bruce Zimmerman, June 11: Doug Rees, June 18: Mark Rees and June 25: Casey Benefield. The concerts are free and open to the public. Attendees are welcomed to bring their own chairs and blankets. No glass containers are allowed in the park.
Annual Oran car show planned for early June
The 15th annual Oran Car Show will be June 5 at the Tilles Memorial City Park on Greer Street in Oran, Mo. The car show, sponsored by the Oran Chamber of Commerce and the Stockade Buildings and Animal Nutrition Center, will have check-in from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Trophies will be awarded at 4 p.m. for three places in about 50 classes. Gunboat association announces reunion
The Patrol Gunboat Association will host a reunion for members of the Asheville and Tacoma Patrol Gunboat class and former tender and staff members. WAVES national convention planned
WAVES will be hosting their national convention for the former members of the Women of the Sea Services, U.S. Navy and Navy Nurse Corps, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Maritime Service, Wrens and the Associated Reserves.
