The Joint Veterans will host their annual Memorial Day services at 11 a.m. May 31, at the Osage Community Centre in Cape Girardeau. The band will play at 10:30 a.m., and the guest speaker will be Lt. The Mound City National Cemetery will hold Memorial Day services at 10 a.m. May 20 in Mound City, Ill. Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Gary Trexler will present the welcoming remarks, and Steve Crain will be the featured speaker. There also will be a display of American flags along the Avenue of Flags as well as flags on the graves placed there by Boy and Girl Scouts. The Job's Daughters of Bethel 60 will celebrate its 40 anniversary from 3 to 6 p.m. June 5 at the Jackson Masonic Temple. The Bethel 60 daughters are inviting former members and adults that have been a part of the group to join in the celebration. The reception will include the installation of new officers at 1 p.m. Participants can bring pictures or scrapbooks to share memories. The Crader family reunion will be June 13 at Cape County Park North shelter No. 4. The Crader Cemetery board meeting will be at 11 a.m. A business meeting with the group will begin at 11:30 a.m. Members of the Crader family may bring food to share and soft drinks for lunch at noon. The reunion celebrates the 150th year of the Crader Cemetery. There will be a Cemetery board election for a treasurer and a member at large. Crader family members ask those who do not attend the reunion to contribute toward maintenance of the cemetery.
