Southeast students have a chance to help Habitat for Humanity on campus
A partnership between the Office of Residence Life and Habitat for Humanity, with help from students, faculty and staff, is enabling a Habitat home to be built on campus at the Wehking Alumni Center parking lot (920 Broadway) for a Cape Girardeau family, John and Ashley Sterling and their four children. The home will be built until March 20 and moved March 21 to its permanent location at 1640 N. Main St. The students will be working through spring break to complete the house. The interior will be finished after the house is installed on its new basement foundation. Kerry Wallaert, area coordinator for the Office of Residence Life, said the home was placed on campus to give all students the opportunity to connect with Habitat without having to travel off campus. Interested volunteers should contact Bruce Skinner at 651-2274 or Wallaert at 332-5784 or by e-mail at bskinner@semo.edu, kawallaert@semo.edu.
