Burrito-Ville plans monthly give back events

Burrito-Ville will begin its #GiveBackToCape "planting seeds for local community growth" program from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at the restaurant, 913 Broadway St. in Cape Girardeau. The program will highlight a different local organization or charity each month, with March's event benefiting the Southeast Missouri State University Sports Management Scholarship. Ten percent of the sales during each fundraiser will go directly to the featured organization in efforts to better the lives of those living in Cape Girardeau. Trendy Kids Consignment Sale set

The spring Trendy Kids Consignment Sale will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 10 and 11, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Perryville National Guard Armory, 905 S. Kingshighway in Perryville, Missouri. There also will be an exclusive pre-sale from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, for members of the military, registered new mothers and consignors. The sale will include brand-name children's items, including clothing from newborn to junior sizes, toys, shoes, books, high chairs and more. Bishop's Walk benefit planned

Notre Dame Regional High School and the Sikeston City Complex will host Bishop's Walks to benefit Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 12, at the high school track, 265 Notre Dame Drive in Cape Girardeau, and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sikeston City Complex, 501 Campanella Drive in Sikeston, Missouri. A barbecue is planned to follow the walk at Notre Dame, and pastries will be available at the walk in Sikeston. The cost is $10 per person and will include a T-shirt. Masonic Temple to host breakfast

The Cape Girardeau Masonic Temple Association will have an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at The Masonic Temple, 2307 Broadway in Cape Girardeau. The meal will include scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, coffee, milk and orange juice. The cost is $6 for adults and free for children younger than 5.

Outdoor Weekend scheduled in Scott City

Sportsmen Under the Influence will host an Outdoor Weekend Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13, at the First Assembly of God Church, 312 Dearborn St. in Scott City. The event will begin with the annual Wildlife Supper at 4 p.m., and will include a meal, silent auction, door prizes, a gun raffle, other giveaways and more. The featured speaker for the event will be Chip Studer of Safety and Salvation Ministries. The event is free, but donations are appreciated. "Camo church" will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, and attendees are encouraged to wear camouflage for the service around an indoor campfire. Leftovers from the Wildlife Supper will be served. The weekend will conclude with a worship service at 6 p.m., with the award-winning Harper family from Doniphan, Missouri, performing. Meal set at Oran Knights of Columbus Hall

The St. Ann's PCCW of Guardian Angel Parish will host a spring dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the Oran Knights of Columbus Hall, Highway 77 in Oran, Missouri. The meal will be served buffet style, with roast beef and gravy, fried chicken, chicken and dressing, homemade bread and more. The meal will cost $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and will be free for children 5 and younger.

St. Joseph to host dinner

A chicken and dumpling and sausage dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at St. Joseph Parish, 138 St. Joseph Lane in Apple Creek, Missouri. The all-you-can-eat dinner also will include dressing, homemade pie, bread and drinks. Tickets for the meal will be $8 for adults, $4 for children and free for children 6 or younger. Carryout meals will be available, and all charitable donations will be matched by the Western Catholic Union.

Fish fry planned in Jackson

The Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tilsit will host a fish fry at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the church, 496 State Highway F in Jackson. The meal will cost $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and will be free for children 5 and younger. The menu will include fried chicken, chicken strips, baked beans, slaw, potato salad, dessert and more. Carryouts will be available. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Christ Lutheran Church Food and Clothing Pantry in Gordonville.

Christian women's club to meet

The Christian Women's Club meets from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the second Monday of every month for lunch, music, a special event and an inspirational speaker at the Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge, 639 Elks Lane in Cape Girardeau. The event falls on March 14 this month and will cost $10.

Senior program planned at Scott City library

The Scott City Riverside Regional Library will host "Senior Moments," a time for coffee and conversation, from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at the library, 2108 Main St. in Scott City. Nature Center to discuss purple martins

The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will host "Purple Martins Need Our Help" from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at the center, 2289 County Park Drive in Cape Girardeau. John Miller, a volunteer with the Purple Martin Conservation Association, will be the visiting speaker and will discuss the history of the bond between martins and humans, best housing and placement options for the birds, steps to assure a colony returns and grows each year and new information about the birds' migration. Lighthouse Ministries to host W.C.W. event

Lighthouse Breakthrough International Ministries will host a "Watch Christ W.O.R.K. (Willing Over-comers Revealing the Kingdom)" event from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday, March 18, at the ministry location, 121 S. Main St. in Cape Girardeau. Admission for the event is $3 or $2 with a donation of nonperishable items at the door. Vendor space is available, but limited. Easter egg hunt planned

PC Wellness Center will host an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at South County Park Road Pavilion No. 20 in Cape Girardeau. The event will include music, drinks, an egg toss, a coloring book contest, local vendors and the egg hunt. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own basket due to limited supply.

Back the Badge Fundraiser scheduled

Schock's Pub and Grill will host a "Back the Badge" Fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at its Scott City location, 116 E. Hickory St. The fundraiser will benefit the Scott City Police Department and will be an opportunity for the community and police officers to come together in a casual setting to show support for the department. Tickets for the events are $10 and will include a pulled pork and chicken dinner, live music by GenX and a silent auction.

Sensational Smiles Fundraiser set

The Sensational Smiles Fundraiser will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at The Venue, 80 S. Plaza Way in Cape Girardeau. The event will help raise money for children in need of dental treatment who have no insurance or Medicaid. Tickets for the event are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, and will include food, music, a silent auction and volunteer appreciation.
