Euchre tournament to be held today in Chaffee

The Daughters of St. Ambrose will host a euchre tournament at 1 p.m. today at St. Ambrose, 418 S. Third St. in Chaffee, Missouri. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $10 and food will be available.

St. Joseph Church to host breakfast, bake sale

A breakfast and bake sale will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. today at the St. Joseph Church Hall, 138 St. Joseph Lane in Apple Creek. The menu will include sausage, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy, fruit, homemade coffee cake and beverage. The cost for adults is $8, $4 for children 5 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger.

Fish fry set for Scott City K of C

The Knights of Columbus Council 6420 will hold its weekly Lenten fish fry Friday at the hall, 28745 Highway 61 in Scott City. The dinners will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday through April 7. The menu will include all-you-can-eat catfish, fried chicken, baked beans, slaw, hush puppies, potato wedges and drinks. The cost for adults is $11, $5 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children 6 and younger.

T-shirts to help purchase police dogs

Bark the Blue T-shirts can be obtained for a $10 donation at Rob Rueseler & Associates, 113. S. Broadview in Cape Girardeau. The funds collected will go to the Cape Girardeau Public Safety Foundation to help the Cape Girardeau Police Department purchase new K-9 dogs. Shirts are available in adult and youth sizes. The Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810 will hold a Lenten fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the lodge, 121 E. Yoakum Ave. in Chaffee, Missouri. The all-you-can-eat buffet, which will be held every Friday through April 14, will include chicken, sides and iced tea. The cost will be $11 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger.

Bible trivia/taco night at Jackson Civic Center

Emanuel United to mark 150th anniversary

Spring Rally to be held in Altenburg

The Altenburg Zone Women's Missionary League will hold its Spring Rally at 1 p.m. April 2 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 57 Church St. in Altenburg, Missouri. Registration for the rally begins at 12:30 p.m. The rally theme is "God wants to use all of us," and the featured speaker will be Vickie Meshreky of POBLO, an evangelical Christian organization that works to meets the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of Muslims and other immigrants and refugees in the United States.

Southeast Hospital College to hold 5K run

Southeast Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences will host a 5K and 1-mile run at Arena Park on April 8. The entry fee is $20 per person with a T-shirt and $15 without. The Jackson R-2 School District will host the Milk Mustache Dash, a 5K and 1-mile run/walk, on April 29 at the Jackson Middle School, 1651 W. Independence St. in Jackson.

Registration will be held from 7 to 7:30 a.m. before the race, which begins at 8 a.m. Cost of advance registration, which must be completed by April 5, is $30 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and younger. Cost includes a T-shirt (There is a $5 additional charge for extra-large sizes). All proceeds benefit the Jackson R-2 Backpack for Friday Program, which provides weekend meals to students in need.
