DECA will host a trivia night March 7 at the Cape Career and Technology Center, 1080 S. Silver Springs Road in Cape Girardeau. Proceeds are slated to help students participate in state and international DECA competitions; cash prizes will be awarded. World Day of Prayer will be held March 6 at New McKendree United Methodist Church at 225 S. High St. in Jackson. The theme is "Do You Understand What I Have Done For You?" World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumical movement led by Christian women. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. with a service at 1 p.m. The event is open to the public.
St. Joseph Parish in Apple Creek, Missouri, will host a chicken and dumpling and sausuage dinner and country store from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 8. The all-you-can-eat buffet will include dressing, homemade pie and bread. Visitors are invited to Mass at 7:30 a.m. and to visit the shrine and museum. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children; there is no charge for those younger than 6 years old. Carryouts will be available.

The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children ages 4 through 12; there is no charge for children ages 5 and younger. Carryouts will be available.
Oak Ridge R-VI School will host kindergarten screening and enrollment for children 3 and 4 years old March 25 at the Multipurpose Building at Oak Ridge School on Route E in Oak Ridge, Missouri. Parents must attend with their children with immunization records, official birth certificates, Social Security cards and proof of residence.
The Sikeston Regional Women's Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28 at Miner Convention Center, with more than 60 vendors expected to showcase products and services including health and beauty, fashion, travel and more. Local crafters also will be there. Lunch will be available. A portion of the proceeds will go to The House of Refuge, a women's and children's shelter in Sikeston.
