The Perkins Volunteer Fire Department's 30th annual whole-hog sausage breakfast will be from 6 to 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at the firehouse on Route P in Perkins, Mo. The all-you-can-eat menu will include sausage, pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy and beverages. Attendance prize is a 20-gauge Mossberg 500 bantam shotgun in muddy girl camo.
Roller Girls begin fifth season
The Cape Girardeau Roller Girls open their fifth season Feb. 22 with an intraleague mash-up against skaters from Illinois, Tennessee and other Missouri locations.
The team donates profits from each home bout to a local charity, and the first bout will benefit the Special Olympics. Other 2014 recipients include the Cape Girardeau Department of Parks and Recreation, Southeast Hospice and the Southeast Council on the Arts.

Safe House to host trivia night
The fourth annual Safe House for Women trivia night -- with a St. Patrick's Day theme -- will be March 15 at the Knights of Columbus Hall's lower level, 28745 U.S. 61 in Jackson. Doors open at 6 p.m. and trivia starts at 7 p.m. Teams of eight may register for $100 before March 7. Registration is $120 after March 7 and at the door. Preregistration is encouraged. The event will include door prizes and a 50/50 raffle, and T-shirts will be available for purchase. Beverages and light snacks will be provided; teams are welcome to provide their own snacks, and there will be an open bar.

Mardi Gras-themed dinner auction
The St. Mary Cathedral Home and School Association will hold its 24th annual dinner auction Feb. 22, celebrating Mardi Gras, a news release said.
Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. at Ray's Conference Center, 3257 William St. in Cape Girardeau. The event will include a Cajun-themed dinner by Ray's of Kelso, King Cakes, beverages and silent and oral auctions, according to the release.
The band Fanfare will play and a cash bar will be available. An after-party will include dancing.
Tickets are $30; after-party tickets and alcoholic beverages will be available for additional fees, the release said.
The winners of a $10,000 raffle and other prizes will be announced at the dinner. Tickets are available at Knaup Floral and Guys Big and Tall, through any school family and may be bought at the St. Mary School office by calling 335-3840.
