New McKendree United Methodist Church's South Campus will hold a fried catfish and chicken tenders dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the New McKendree Celebration Center. The meal also includes coleslaw, baked beans, spiral potatoes, dessert and a drink. Adults eat for $8, children ages 5 to 12 eat for $5 and children younger than 5 eat free.

Bluebird course at Nature Center

The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center is hosting Discover Nature Families: Habitat for Bluebirds from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center. The program will teach the nature of bluebirds and what families can do to attract them. Participants will learn what to look for when selecting a habitat to raise a family and how to help bluebirds be successful. Each family may build a bluebird nest box to take home. The program is designed to help adults and children explore nature and master outdoor skills together. The program is for ages 8 and older, the program is free but registration is required. Library offers bag lunch program

The Cape Girardeau Public Library's first Brown Bag Lunch and Program will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Geraldine Hirsch Room at the library. Ruth Dockins from the Area Agency on Aging will present "Alphabet Soup," a discussion on different options available in the Medicare program. There will be book reviews and a fun activity. Bring a lunch. The library will provide drinks and cookies.

History comes to life on campus

Southeast Missouri State University will host a Living Wax Museum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the University Center's program lounge. Students will be dressed as historical figures.
