The Lutesville Odd Fellows will be hosting an all-day, all-you-can-eat pancake day Saturday at the Lutesville IOOF Lodge No. 385 at 105 Second St. in Marble Hill, Mo. Lodge members will be serving pancakes, homemade sausage, juice and coffee. The price is $5 per plate; children 5 and younger eat for free. A portion of all proceeds goes to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Habitat for Humanity is asking all willing participants who are at least 16 years old to help from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Habitat for Humanity Project House in Cape Girardeau. For more information and the location of the build, call 334-9728.
A Mother's Day buffet will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 9 at the Plaza Conference Center in Cape Girardeau. The buffet, provided by Ray's of Kelso, will feature prime rib, turkey breast, smoked pork loin, a breakfast bar, fresh potatoes and vegetables. The Jerry Ford Orchestra will provide entertainment. The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host a local Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition for area youth at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Shawnee Park Sports Complex. Registration will begin at 10 a.m., and the competition will get underway at 10:30 a.m. Boys and girls will compete separately in four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.
