The Scott County Women in Agriculture will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 6 at the Riverside Regional Library in Benton, Mo. The presenters will be librarian Bernice Kern and Betty Bridwell. The two speakers will be giving a presentation on Scherenschnitte, which is a form of paper-cutting. All women are invited to attend. The Board of Examiners will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 5 at Cape Girardeau City Hall. Individuals are invited to attend if they are interested in joining the board. The duty of the Board of Examiners is to examine the qualifications of all applicants for a plumber's license, mechanical installer's license, master drainlayer's license and electrician's license. The Board of Examiners also serves to advise the city council and city staff as to any recommendations they deem appropriate with regard to the licensing of various trades in Cape Girardeau. The Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University will have Family Fun Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Student Recreation Center-North and the Student Aquatic Center. The Student Aquatic Center and the indoor climbing wall will both be open from 1 to 3 p.m. All regular rec center rules apply, and all children must be accompanied by an adult during their visit.
