New Year's run to be Dec. 31

The Kenny Rogers Children's Center is hosting its third annual New Year's Resolution Run at 11 a.m. Dec. 31 in Sikeston, Mo. There are three races to compete in: the 1-mile fun run, 5K and the 10K. For more information or to pledge a donation, email Brooke at SplitMasterTraining@live.com.

Waller benefit set for Jan. 7

Amanda Hill is hosting a pageant to benefit the children of Jacque Waller, who disappeared in June. The pageant, with the theme "Strawberry Shortcake," is at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Shawnee Center in Cape Girardeau. Registration will be from noon to 1:15 p.m. Jan. 7. There is only one attire option: Sunday's Best, custom-made or it can be a strawberry shortcake (but not required). There is a one-time fee of $25.
