SALT plans Senior Christmas Party at the Eagles Club

Seniors and Lawman Together will hold its Senior Christmas Party from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Eagles Club in Cape Girardeau. The Christmas party is intended to bring together senior citizens and law enforcement for a fun afternoon of entertainment, refreshments and door prizes. This event is free and open to anyone older than 55. Overflow parking will be available at the Cape Senior Center. There will also be shuttle bus transportation provided to the Eagles Club. The last shuttle will leave at 4:15 p.m. For more information, call 335-6621.

American Red Cross and Papa John's Pizza join for fundraiser

Papa John's Pizza in Cape Girardeau and the American Red Cross are teaming up. Papa John's will donate 20 percent of its sales Monday to the local chapter of the American Red Cross. Papa John's will take orders from 11 a.m. to midnight at www.papajohns.com or 334-9300. Mention the American Red Cross when you order or pick up your pizza to make it count. The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement. It provides relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
