Holiday project continues

The Stoddard County Ambulance District will be conducting its 26th annual "Home for the Holidays" project Thursday. They will be taking patients who are unable to travel except by ambulance from the nursing homes of Stoddard County to residences in the county. The service is available to any patient who is not ambulatory and would like to spend some time with their family on Thanksgiving. After the visit, the ambulance district will transport the patient back to their nursing facility. They will be allowed to stay as long as they wish on their home visit. It can be just a few hours or even overnight. There will be no charge to the patient or their family for the service. Anyone interested in the program should contact the activity director at the patient's nursing home. All arrangements should be made through the appropriate nursing home, which will then contact the ambulance office to set up the schedule.
