La Croix Church will continue its series "Why?" with programs from Christine Caine. The speaker series aims to answer the questions people have for God. Caine will address "Why didn't you come sooner?" while talking about her A21 Campaign, which fights human trafficking and attempts to rescue or help victims of it. Caine, known for her conversational style of public speaking, will give a speech at each of La Croix's worship services: 5:30 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday.
The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department in Cape Girardeau will host the third annual Father/Daughter Dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 5. Daughters ages 2 to 16 and their fathers can enjoy music, photos and activities. Theme colors are red, silver and black. Dress attire is casual to formal. The 82nd Airborne Division Association in Fayetteville, N.C., will be holding a Kentucky All-Airborne Day on Feb. 25 and 26 in Bowling Green, Ky. The Airborne Division Association has membership of veterans from the 11th, 13th, 17th, 82nd, 101st and today's special forces. Participants who want to attend do not have to have combat experience, only the wings they earned through their training. Cub Scout Pack No. 220 in Scott City will hold a bowling tournament from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Main Street Lanes in Jackson. The price to enter the tournament is $25 per person and includes a dinner, two hours of bowling and the cost of bowling shoes. Each team can have four to eight people. The dinner will be barbecue sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, homemade cookies and a drink. The money raised will go toward awards and camping trips. For more information, call 225-7602.
Notre Dame Regional High School will hold placement exams for the class of 2014 at 8:15 a.m. Saturday. All eighth-graders interested in taking the exam should be at the high school at 8 a.m. with two No. 2 pencils and a calculator.
