Gordonville Grill will host a fundraiser for Old McKendree Chapel Tuesday, June 7, at the restaurant, 829 State Hwy Z in Cape Girardeau. They will donate 10 percent of all sales generated that day to the upkeep and continuation of the historical old chapel, which is the oldest Methodist church west of the Mississippi River.

Aging Matters to host open house

Aging Matters will host an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at its new location, 1078 Wolverine Lane, Suite J, in Cape Girardeau. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and door prizes will be available. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 1 p.m.

Summer blood drive to be held

A SoutheastHEALTH summer blood drive will be from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Red Cross Donation Center, 20 S. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau. For more information or to register for the blood drive, call (800) RED-CROSS or go to redcrossblood.org.

United Way 5K scheduled

Procter & Gamble will host the "Who Do You Run For?" 5K at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Trail of Tears State Park, 429 Moccasin Springs Road in Jackson. Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 9. Participants have the option to support more than a dozen United Way funded partners or simply the United Way with their entry fee of $20. The tax-deductible registration fee is $25 and includes a T-shirt. To register or for more information, go to unitedwayofsemo.org/run.
