St. Denis to host holiday event

The St. Denis 17th annual "Winter Wonderland of Treasures" arts and crafts sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Parish Center, 115 N. Winchester St. in Benton, Missouri. The free event will include attendance drawings and a 50/50 drawing. There will be booths with crafts, quilts, kettle corn, home decor, RADA cutlery, personalized items, florals, toys, antiques, candles, woodworking, clothing, Christmas items, jewelry, baby items, religious, Barbie items and much more. St. Mary to host craft and bake sale

The St. Mary Cathedral Council of Catholic Women will host its annual holiday craft and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 4, in the school cafeteria, 615 William St. in Cape Girardeau. Baked goods available will include cakes, pies, breads, candies, jellies and other homemade specialties. Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers and holiday items also will be for sale. Raffle tickets for a special basket will be available for purchase, and several religious items and books will be free for the taking.

Christmas nativities to be displayed

The fourth annual Nativities Around the World event will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 1 through 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1048 W. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau. There will be live music beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday. The display is free and open to the public.

Nativity to be shown

Christ Emanuel Church will have a live nativity displayed from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the church, 304 E. Adams St. in Jackson.

Live nativity planned

A country Christmas live nativity will be presented from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Caney Fork Baptist Church, 3580 County Road 472 in Oak Ridge. Hot chocolate and other refreshments will be available.

Breakfast meal to be served

A breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in the St. Ambrose Parish Center, 418 S. 3rd St. in Chaffee, Missouri. The meal will include whole hog sausage, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. The cost is $7 for adults; $3 for children ages 6 to 12; and free for children 5 and younger.

Christmas remembrance service set

A Christmas remembrance and memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 223 W. Adams St. in Jackson. The service will be for anyone who has lost a loved one. For more information, call Rev. Eric Longman at (573) 243-2236.

Breakfast and bake sale planned

A breakfast meal and bake sale will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at St. Joseph Church Hall, 138 St. Joseph Lane in Apple Creek, Missouri. Mass will be held at 7:30 a.m. and the meal will follow. The menu will include sausage, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy, homemade coffee cake, fruit and a drink. The cost is $8 for adults; $4 for children ages 5 to 12; and free for children 5 and younger. Carry-outs will be available.
