KENNETT, Mo. -- The Christmas season turned out to be a bright one for the city's animals, thanks to the efforts of Tena Petix, humane officer for the city of Kennett, and Dr. Everett Mobley and Dr. Carol Brigance and the team at the Kennett Veterinary Clinic.
Once again, in December, personnel at the Kennett Veterinary Clinic extended their help to Petix in her efforts to care for pets in need by sponsoring the "Fur Ball Tree."
According to Mobley, the clinic offered pet-lovers a $5 credit in return for any donation to help pets that are housed in the city's animal shelter. All donations were then recognized with an ornament on the "Fur Ball Tree."
Mobley's clients rose to the occasion by donating generously with pet food, blankets, towels, toys and treats being piled under this year's tree. Besides receiving these needed items, $200 in cash was also donated to go toward the care of the animals, as well.
Petix accepted the donations at the end of December and will be using them in her good work.
"I really appreciated all the people who made these donations to help us," she said. "My thanks go out to all of them, and to Dr. Mobley's team at Kennett Veterinary Clinic."
