Friends and family members are often the butt of jokes. On April Fools' Day they are also easy targets. In recognition of the orneriest day of the year, the Southeast Missourian chatted with some teens during an afternoon at West Park Mall. We asked about pranks they've pulled off and pranks they would try if there were no consequences. Here's what they said:

"I would probably freeze somebody's bra."

Madison Lands, 14, 8th grade, Scott City Middle School

"I put this platic lizard in my dad's bed. And when he got into it he felt the lizard and freaked out, because he thought it was a real one. He threw it across the room, made a big deal out of it and finally realized when I came in laughing that it was a plastic lizard. And then he tried to do it to me, and it didn't work."

Betsy Borgsmiller, 16, sophomore, Sikeston Senior High School

"I would like to take my dad's truck and park it about a block away. So when he wakes up in the morning: no truck. That's what I would do."

Zach Parker, 16, junior, Cape Girardeau Central High School

"I would probably prank my cousin, because he's always pranking me, because he is a little bit older. He thinks he is stronger. I would probably do something mean to him. He doesn't drive yet, but if he drove, I would probably put a fog machine under his car, make him think that it's broken."

Bryce Davidson, 14, freshman, Jackson Junior High School

"I put my dad's snake in the toilet and my stepmom is scared to death of it. So she went to go to the bathroom in the morning and saw it. It was crazy."

Tyler Smith,15, freshman, Scott City High School

"I would probably put Vaseline on a toilet seat for my brother. He would probably fall off and get mad. We are kind of competetive."

Caleb McGee, 16, sophomore, Sikeston Senior High School

"I probably like to Saran Wrap somebody's car, so they can't get in. That would be kind of funny.

Riley Gockel, 14, freshman, Cape Girardeau Central High School

"I would put a red Kool-Aid packet in the shower head and when they turn it on, it would come out red. I would also put fake red blood on the floor, so when you come through the door, act like you're dead on the floor."

Corabeth Yount, 14, freshman, Jackson Junior High School

"I would fill their locker with catfood and open the cans and shut their locker, so it would stink real bad in the whole school."

Braden Bowen, 14, 8th grade, Cape Girardeau Central Junior High School

"This one time me and my friends were [at a friend's house], and we put a bucket of water and lard on top of her door, and when she opened it, it fell on her.

Spencer Mills, 15, freshman, Notre Dame Regional High School

"I am not really a mean person. I would probably just write on somebody's car or maybe egg their house.

Kristin Crites, 16, Woodland High School, junior
