Monroe Hicks and Kenny LoweMonroe Hicks, 19, played football and track at Central High School. He will attend Central Missouri State University on a scholarship. Kenny Lowe, 17, also ran track at Central.
What is your favorite exercise/which exercise is the most effective?
Hicks: "I like to work out the whole upper body."
How do you stay physically fit?
"We do the typical stuff, bench, biceps, triceps and try to run around the track a couple of times."
Where do you go to work out and how often?
"We work out four to five days a week, at school, Osage Centre and sometimes at home."
What do you eat?
Hicks: "I eat just about everything, and I don't gain weight. I have a high metabolism."
What do you think of supplements?
Hicks: "I'm scared of them."
Lowe: "I don't take them. I figure if God wanted me to be that big I'd be that big. And it's more to brag about when you do it on your own."
How do you motivate yourself?
Hicks: "When you have a dream and you want to fulfill that dream you have to be mentally and physically strong. We keep each other motivated, work out as a team. It's almost like a brotherhood. Whatever he does, I do."
