With more than 10,000 locations nationwide, including Cape Girardeau, Curves can help you get back in shape.

The fitness center offers -- a complete 30-minute workout, cardiovascular, strength training, flexibility and a unique weight management program-- all designed to fit your individual needs.

Curves as a franchise has been in business for 11 years. In the last 10 years it has grown to become a worldwide enterprise.

Bryan and Tish Gentry, the new owners of the Cape Girardeau location, purchased the business in March 2006. Since then, they have expanded the staff and installed a new computer system with a key-tag sign-in.

"I bought the Cape Girardeau Curves in March 2006 and hit the ground running," Tish Gentry said.

"I have been a Curves owner for 10 years with two other locations in Dexter and West Plains, Mo. I have enjoyed getting to know the members here in Cape Girardeau as they are my passion! My goal was to 'grow' the club into the facility I knew Cape Girardeau could support.

"Curves has so much to offer the busy woman looking for a workout that will give her results without sacrificing her time, which is often very limited. We offer a fun-filled atmosphere where we reward your results and celebrate your success. We realize our members are unique with unique goals, and we coach accordingly. We offer a scientifically studied and proven weight loss program that gives permanent results without starving or dieting forever! We also carry a line of supplements made with the Curves name, meaning that you can trust that the benefits are superior to the average over-the-counter product," Gentry said.

The business continues to grow. The staff at Curves keeps up to date in fitness training and recently they were awarded the Shining Star, which is recognition for an outstanding club. With weight loss classes held quarterly, the club remains one of the Cape Girardeau area's premier fitness centers.

They have a quarterly magazine, Diane, that in its first year won awards in journalism and continues to be one of the most highly distributed magazines in the United States.

Many changes have been made since March 2006 as the staff has gone through extensive training, Tish Gentry attended training in Waco, Texas, as well as Regional Training and Owner's training sessions. The club has also expanded to offer fitness merchandise.

"We now offer active wear and other products called Curvaceous. I am very excited as the new year has started and I feel we have done the hard work and are now ready to serve Cape Girardeau. We look forward to serving the women in the area " she said.

"I know there are many workout facilities, all with their own unique systems that get results. I feel that the service you will receive at Curves is what makes us the best in town," Gentry said.
