The local 4B Arena will be hosting the first Cavalcade in the Dunklin County area, which will include more than 10 events, and donate a portion of the proceeds to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

The event will be hosted at 10 a.m., Sept. 19 and will feature events including Leadline (8 and under), Western Pleasure, Junior Walk Trot (18 and under), Slow Gaited, Flag Race, Open Gaited, Speed Race, Pickup Race, Egg Race, Poles -- Junior (18 and under) and Open, Barrels - PeeWee (10 and under) Juniors ( 11 through 18) and Open (over 18).

Clubs participating in the event include Puxico, Blytheville, Marmaduke, Rector and Kennett.

Trophies will be awarded for First through Fifth places and points will be awarded to clubs for First through Fifth place which will result in a plaque being awarded to the cumulative high point club.

The event will cost $3 per adult, $2 for ages 12 and under, to attend and $3 per event to compete.

Income from the sponsorship fee and a portion of the event fee will support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a pediatric treatment and research facility. St. Jude researchers are published and cited more often in high impact publications than any other private pediatric oncology research institution in American, according to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Web site. The Web site also notes that the hospital is a place where many doctors send their sickest and most difficult cases.

Sponsors for the Cavalcade include Spielman's Farm, Senath State Bank, Bond's Farm, Peach Orchard Gin, J&M Construction, James Lowry Wrecker and Recovery, Ag Distributing, and Ken-Mo Ag.

The 4B Arena is located at 21761 State Highway EE in Kennett, Mo., which can be found by traveling on Highway 25 and turning East on County Road 426 for 0.73 miles and then turning left on MO-EE for 0.81 miles with the arena being located on the left.

The rain-out date is scheduled for 10 a.m., on Sept. 26, 2009.
