n Colin McLain of Cape Girardeau graduated magna cum laude in June with a bachelor of arts degree in political science-international relations from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.

Scholarships

• Emily Williams of Cape Girardeau has been awarded a President's Scholarship, Missouri Leadership Award and a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University. A 2007 graduate of Central High School, she is the daughter of Steve and Teresa Williams of Cape Girardeau.

honor's lists

• Brittany Lang of Cape Girardeau was named to the spring semester honor roll at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
• Rebecca Cook and Sarah Cook, both of Chaffee, Mo., were named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo.
• Meredith Toole of Cape Girardeau and Paul Sander of Jackson have been named to the spring semester dean's list at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Toole graduated summa cum laude in May with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
• Heather Birk of Jackson has been named to the spring semester dean's list at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Cape Girardeau Central High School students Stanton Bradley, Paul Guidos III, Joshua Hinton, Will LaFoe II and Garrett Pannier, Delta High School student Erich Arvidson; Jackson High School students Zachariah Dumey, Jesse Eichhorn, David Law, Jake Sievers, Benjamin Sirrine, Richard Stroder, Nicholas Welker, Austin Wessel, and Joseph Wiginton; Cody Van de Ven of Leopold High School; Notre Dame Regional High School students Nick Barwick, Neil Kannebergt, Andrew McIntyre, Christopher McMillan and Adam Parker; Justin Aden of Oak Ridge High School; Saxony Lutheran High School students Benjamin Skelton and Maxwell Wieser; and Scott City High School students Craig Arnzen and David Massey attended American Legion Boys State of Missouri at the University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg, Mo., this summer.
