~Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of adventure, violence, including frightening images, running time 151 minutes. (Town Plaza Cinema)
Basically, watching "Pirates of the Caribbean II" was like manual labor. It was work for me to sit through this movie.
First of all, it was way too long. I found myself getting drowsy, wishing I could take a nap. It was filled with cheesy one-liners and bad accents. I guess my idea of a good pirate movie differs greatly from the director's.
I cannot believe the theater has been packed all weekend because of this movie. I sincerely hope other people enjoyed it, but in my opinion it was a total disappointment.

I was really looking forward to seeing "Pirates of the Caribbean II: Dead Man's Chest." The previews looked great, and I really enjoyed the first movie.
Unfortunately, like so many other sequels, this movie lacked a lot.
My main complaint is the length of the movie. I don't mind sitting through a two-and-a-half-hour movie if it keeps me interested. However, I was bored ... very bored. Apparently I wasn't the only one.
The lady sitting in front of me actually fell asleep. This movie dragged on and on with no end in sight.
I know there are some who will disagree with me, as I heard others commenting as we left the theater. But in my opinion, this movie was hyped up and then fizzled out when it came to delivering the goods.
