NEW YORK -- The Girl Scouts of the USA are used to making you smile with sweet cookies, but now they're hoping to soothe your ears with sweet music. The organization announced Thursday they've recorded an original song for the first time, featuring backup vocals from actual Girl Scouts. "Watch Me Shine" was written by Liz Rose, who has won Grammys for her work with Taylor Swift and Little Big Town, and Emily Shackleton, who sings lead on the song. It's available on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon Music. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Girl Scouts organization.
GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Katt Williams has pleaded no contest to assault and battery charges after an incident with a bodyguard. The comedian was charged in March after authorities said he threatened the man while an acquaintance beat him with a baseball bat. Defense attorney Drew Findling said Williams agreed to a plea deal Thursday. Williams was ordered to serve five years' probation. Williams must submit to bimonthly drug tests for the first year of probation, do 100 hours of community service, stay away from the bodyguard and pay him restitution of $7,500.
