Courtney Beussink of Gordonville received the Spartech Corp. Bill Hiatt Scholarship, Kiwanis Scholarship Missouri Bright Flight Scholarship and Dean's Scholarship to attend St. Louis University.

The following students received scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2009-2010 school year:

Laura Keller of Jackson received a Regents' Scholarship.

Jenny Brant of Kelso, Mo., received a President's Scholarship.

HONORS, ACHIEVEMENTS

Gabriel Eggers of Jackson was selected for the 2009 Missouri Scholars 100 program, which honors the top academic students in the state. He was also one of 15 students in the state to receive the 2009 Missouri Award for Outstanding Achievement in Citizenship.

Alexis Pfeiffer and Sarah Wischern of Jackson and Ashley Moore of Perryville, Mo., received first, second and third place, respectively, in their categories at the Paducah Woman's Club Art Show. Their work was exhibited at Paducah City Hall.

Robert Penny and Joshua Horrell, automotive technology students at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center, will compete at the Kansas City Speedway in a state auto skills competition later this month.
