Jane Cooper Stacy, former director of alumni services and director of development at Southeast Missouri State University, recently gave a donation to the ministry of the Baptist Student Center at Southeast in memory of her father, the late Rev. Allen B. Cooper of Charleston, Mo. Cooper was the first executive secretary of the campus ministry and Stacy was the first summer missionary sent by the Baptist Student Center, conducting vacation Bible schools in Washington and Oregon in 1957. The fund for the donation, named after Cooper, will be used to defray the cost of a free Sunday-night meal at the center that is open to all students on campus, with an emphasis on international students. The startup gift will enable the meal ministry to continue for the first semester and expand to include more international students.
