Donate a wool blanket to a Crisp Museum art project and get a silkscreen print

Yes, it's cold out, but area residents who donate wool blankets to an art project at Crisp Museum will receive a silkscreen print from Marie Watt, an artist with a display in the museum.

The request for blankets is part of a community art project titled "Blanket Stories."

Each person will get a tag for their blanket asking for their name and a story about the blanket. Watt will host a sewing circle Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. where the blankets and stories will be woven together.

The sewing circle is meant to be a fluid session. People can come and go as they want and no stitching experience is needed.

The finished product will be on display in the Crisp Museum with Watt's contemporary art exhibit titled "Migrations: New Directions in Native American Art" until Dec. 20. For more information, call 651-2260.
