Think your cookies take the cake? SHE magazine is teaming up with Southeast Missourian features editor Chris Harris for a holiday baking blowout.

Enter your favorite cookie recipe in our Holiday Best contest by e-mailing the recipe to she@semissourian.com. The best recipes will be selected by a panel of Southeast Missourian staffers and local food experts, with winners invited to bake and enter their actual cookies in the final stage of the contest. Winners will be featured on the Lifestyles page with their recipes in December.

Enter your recipe early by Nov. 14 and be eligible to win a holiday baking pack featuring Ghirardelli chocolates. The prize includes a 11.5-ounce bag of bittersweet chocolate chips; 3.5-ounce bars of intense dark chocolate in mint bliss and evening dream flavors and a 4-ounce bar of bittersweet chocolate. It also includes 4.87-ounce bags of Ghirardelli dark chocolate in espresso escape and twilight delight and a 3.17-ounce bar of midnight reverie chocolate at 86 percent cacao.

  • How to enter: Send your cookie recipe neatly printed or typed, along with your contact information, to she@semissourian.com or sending a typed or neatly printed copy to SHE magazine c/o Callie Clark Miller, P.O. Box 699 Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63701.
  • Deadline: Entries must arrive by Dec. 5. Finalists will be announced Dec. 7 and invited to submit their cookie creations to our panel of judges Dec. 13.
  • Winning recipes: The winning recipes will appear on the Dec. 19 Home & Garden page in the Southeast Missourian. Winners will also be featured at shethemagazine.com. If you have any questions, send an e-mail to she@semissourian.com.
