Church continues weekly supper program

First Presbyterian Church of Cape Girardeau continues its Wednesday supper program this week. A light supper will be served at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall, followed by a program on stained glass. The menu includes chili, soup, sandwiches and dessert.

Smith to lead revival at First Baptist in Jackson

First Baptist Church of Jackson will hold revival services at 8 and 10:40 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Evangelist Billy Smith will lead the services.

Christian Ignition series meets Sunday

Sunday Christian Ignition, a three-month series to help others learn about basic Christian beliefs, meets at 9:15 a.m. Sundays at Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville. Sunday's discussion topic with video presentation is "If I Don't Feel Lost, Why Do I Need to be Found?"

Chili and stew supper scheduled in Fruitland

St. John United Church, three miles west of Fruitland on Route FF, will hold a chili and stew supper Oct. 25. Sponsored by the church's Women's Fellowship, the meal will begin at 4 p.m. There is a charge for the meal, but children younger than 6 eat for free.

Second Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Women's Day celebration Sunday. Evangelists Shelly Moore and Shelby McBride will speak at the 11 a.m. service. Evangelist Allysia Long will speak at the 3 p.m. service. The theme for the event is "Uniting Together for Change."

First Baptist Jackson gets youth pastor

Danny Eudy is the new interim youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Jackson. Eudy, his wife, Christy, and their four children recently lived in Eugene, Ore., where he was youth pastor and minister of education at Rivera Baptist Church for six years.

Dixie Melody Boys to sing in Jackson

The Dixie Melody Boys of Kinston, N.C., will sing at First General Baptist Church of Jackson in the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. worship services Sunday. For more information, call 243-8467.

Daisy church holds kettle beef dinner

New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy will serve a kettle beef and chicken supper from 4 to 7 p.m. today in its fellowship hall. The menu includes kettle beef, chicken dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, slaw, bread, cake and a drink. There is a charge for the meal, though children younger than 5 eat for free.
