ne of the greatest joys of the holiday season is having a home to decorate for the enjoyment of family and friends.
The house at 1505 Primrose Lane in Jackson is one of those homes meant for joyous holidays. With four bedrooms and two and a half baths, it has plenty of room for holiday guests. It's located in a well-established neighborhood with attractive homes close to schools and a park. Both inside and outside, it's attractive and easily maintained.
This home is neat and orderly. Even the two-car garage is impeccably well-groomed and organized.
The exterior is a Cape Cod-style brick with tan trim, green shutters and charming gingerbread trim along the covered front porch. The entry door is a welcoming green with a small Palladian window and sidelights.
Inside, the home is decorated with light colors. Cream sculptured plush carpeting is found in the living room. A tasteful floral antique rose border is used at the ceiling, and antique rose wallpaper is used up the oak-banister staircase.
The kitchen features terra cotta tile floor, maple cabinets, and a terra cotta-colored countertop. Teal and beige tile create an attractive backsplash area around the stove and counters. Appliances include a tan smooth-top range and matching refrigerator. The kitchen has a double stainless steel sink with tall gooseneck faucet and a cheery window above it. The adjoining dining area also has the plush sculptured carpeting and the wallpaper is a cheery cream and rose pinstripe with oak beadboard on the lower half of the wall. Sliding patio doors lead to the large deck overlooking the back yard, which offers a mix of sunshine and shade. A graceful weeping willow tree provides a restful backyard focal point.
A main-level laundry room has cabinets matching those in the kitchen, a terra cotta tile floor, and a nice window overlooking the back yard. Also nearby is a half bath with a tile floor. This bathroom features rose wallpaper and attractive crystal and brass bathroom fixtures at the single-sink vanity.
The master bedroom also uses a light color palette. Two large windows and the light color give the room an expansive feel. The room includes a large walk-in closet and a master bathroom with a long single-sink vanity, tub/shower, and generous linen closet.
The home's other three bedrooms are upstairs. Each offers plenty of closet space, lots of natural light and ceiling fans to increase heating and air conditioning efficiency. Also upstairs is a full bathroom with tub/shower, long maple vanity and generous linen closet.
This home also has a finished basement, which includes a large family room and game room.
There also is plenty of unfinished storage space in the basement, and a roughed-in bathroom completes the area.
