The Cape Parks and Recreation Department is offering weekday and weekend field trips to area orchards. Field trip participants meet at the Osage Community Centre for three different trips focusing on farm life, orchards and hayrides. Parents need to supply souvenir money and sack lunches for their children. The first trip, for children ages 6 to 12, will be to Beggs Family Farm. The trip will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $20 per person. A trip to Diebold's Orchard, for ages 6 to 12, is on the agenda for 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 11. Cost is $15 per person. Ages 4 to 9 will go to Pioneer Orchard from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 13. Cost is $15 per person. There will be a tour of the apple tree farm, farm animal display, hayride and complimentary apple and apple cider. Call 335-5421 for more information and reservations.
