Chief Master Sgt. John G. Weimer, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., has been named the new command chief for the 366th Fighter Wing at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Mountain Home, Idaho.

The command chief is the top non-commissioned officer on Air Force bases and serves as a primary conduit between enlisted personnel and the wing commander.

Weimer has served 24 years in the Air Force. He credited his parents with having a major impact on his success, saying, "They taught me priceless lessons about the value of a strong work ethic and the delicate nature of credibility. As great role models, mom and dad are living proof that perseverance prevails over all adversity."

Weimer has a wife, LeAnne, and three sons, Geordan, 8, Eli, 6, and Gabriel, 3.
