Cape Girardeau girl receives Venturing award

Sarah Mittrucker of Cape Girardeau recently received the Venturing Leadership Award at the VOA Recognition Ceremony at Scoutquest in Forest Park in St. Louis, because of her membership in Venturing Crew 4216. Venturing is a youth program through the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women ages 14 and older to learn more about nature and responsibility. The Venturing Leadership Award is presented by the Greater St. Louis Area Council to Venturers who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing and who exemplify the Venturing code and oath. Mittrucker is president of Crew 4216 and has also held the position of vice president in Crew 4011. This summer she will be volunteering at the National Boy Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Va., where she will be working in the Technology Quest.
