Wesley UMC to hold Children's Day

Wesley United Methodist Church will hold Children's Day during 10:15 a.m. worship services Sunday. The morning will include children's worship, music, puppets, Bible readings and teaching. Steppin' Out at Rhema Word showcases talent

Rhema Word Breakthrough International Ministries will hold the first annual "Steppin' Out Showcase," a free event showcasing God's ministries featuring singers, comedians, rappers and more. The event will be held at 7:15 p.m. April 26 at the church. Special guests include The Church Boys, Mr. Del and Jakayla Carr. Everyone is welcome.

Spring Fling block party to be held in Morehouse

MOREHOUSE, Mo. --¿The Morehouse Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring the second annual Spring Fling block party from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 26 at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 507 S. Benton St. (State Route EE off U.S. 60) in Morehouse, Mo. Everyone is invited to come. There will be games, door prizes, refreshments and a cakewalk. Entertainment includes local musicians such as the McAtees from Advance, Mo., the Shoebox Band from Morehouse and Terry Daily and Chuck Crain from Branson, Mo. Owners of antique tractors are invited to register for the 9 a.m. tractor show.

Jackson Church of the Nazarene will welcome Gene and Dottie Burch from Montgomery City, Mo., as special guests at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Gene will speak about his "Work and Witness" trip to Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, and the "Jesus Film" presentation. All are welcome.

This week's activities at First Baptist Church

  • Sunday at 10:45 a.m.: Dr. Bruce Gentry, director of the Baptist Student Center of Southeast Missouri State University, will deliver a sermon titled "ONE," a focus on working together, from Ephesians 4:1-6.

n Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.: Kids' Club with Whitney Thomason. Bible study, crafts, games and puzzles centered on the story of the road to Emmaus. Also at 6:15 p.m., a Bible study will be led by Dr. Ron Winstead on Luke Chapter 11.

Spanish Mass featured at St. Vincent de Paul

Mass is said in Spanish at 3 p.m. Sundays at St. Vincent de Paul Church on Ritter Drive in Cape Girardeau.

Father's Arms, VFW will hold benefit sale

Father's Arms Fellowship with the Scott City VFW is having a flood relief benefit sale to help with expenses resulting from the flood that damaged both the church and the VFW buildings. The sale will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 25 and 26 at the VFW hall, 1408 Main St. in Scott City. Sale items include electronics, appliances, furniture, clothing, children's items, antiques, collectibles and more. On April 25, some items will be priced, others will be sold by donation. On April 26 all items will be sold by donation of any reasonable amount. Tax deductible donations will also be accepted for either group. Refreshments will be sold.
