Want to hear Elwood McQuaid's daily briefing of Israeli news at 3 a.m., heed parental advice from James Dobson at noon or listen to best-selling author John McArthur at 9:04 p.m.?
Radio listeners in four Southeast Missouri communities now have that chance with the expansion of Bott Radio.
Four new radio stations hit the airwaves earlier this month. Listeners can tune into 24-hour Christian programming in Oran at 90.5 FM, in Cape Girardeau at 103.3 FM, in Scott City at 92.1 FM and in Sikeston at 99.7 FM.
"For 46 years, Bott Radio Network has served families with quality Bible teaching and Christian news and information," said executive vice president Rich Bott. "We are excited about expanding our coverage into Southeast Missouri. These new FM stations will help more people to both grow in their faith and to know what's happening in the world around them, from a Biblical perspective."
Richard P. Bott founded the radio network in 1962, when he purchased an Independence, Mo., radio station that broadcast country music and began broadcasting Christian programming. KCCR 1510 AM made the switch to Christian programming Nov. 12, 1962, with its first song being the Billy Graham Crusade choir's "Oh For a Thousand Tongues to Sing."
Today, Bott Radio Network reaches a much wider audience.
The network can be heard by 40 million people on 80 stations in Arkansas, California, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. Broadcasts are also heard nationwide over the SkyAngel IPTV Channel 202, and worldwide online at www.bottradionetwork.com.
In addition to its newest stations in Southeast Missouri, the network broadcasts to 37 radio stations statewide including such locations as Branson, Columbia, Jefferson City, Springfield, St. Joseph and St. Louis. Expansion into Poplar Bluff, Mo., is planned for 2009.
