There is nothing quite like a brand new house for a brand new beginning. No crayon marks on the walls from other people's children, no carpet stains from anyone else's dog. Everything is brand new and fresh -- like a fresh piece of paper for a writer or a fresh canvas for a painter. Everything is possible.

That is certainly true at 1330 Rosewood, a brand new home in the Ashland Hills Subdivision. This brick and vinyl home has some unique touches, like a small veranda that sits elegantly on the upper floor of the home, and its entrance door with frosted glass and sidelights.

Inside the home are a number of features to add a touch of luxury to everyday life. A hardwood foyer floor gives a warm greeting, and opens up into a variety of light and airy spaces. The first is a formal living room space and a formal dining room space. Both are provided a wealth of natural light from generous windows. A brass and glass chandelier adds beauty and elegance to the dining area.

All of the home's carpeting is light in color, adding the illusion of increased space. A family room located conveniently near the open kitchen area offers the opportunity for a lot of quality family time. The focal point of the family room is a beautiful white-mantled gas log fireplace, artistically lit with spotlights hanging above it. Built-in shelves and cabinets, also done in white, flank the fireplace, offering both increased beauty and a place to display books and collectibles.

The kitchen also artistically blends both modern and traditional décor, with all-white cabinets and a white and gray tile flooring. The cabinets feature glass panels to display favorite china and glassware.

A half-bath is located close to the downstairs living area, using a pedestal-style sink. A utility room also is located on the main living level. A large window there offers the unique opportunity to take care of household chores in cheery light and well-organized space.

Oak and white banisters gracefully ascend the stairs, where seafoam green carpeting highlights the upstairs bedrooms. The master bedroom opens to the master bath, which stars a garden-style whirlpool tub with classic brass hardware and a large window above it for bathing in natural light as well as a soothing soak. The master bath also features a double sink vanity with a large mirror. A large walk-in closet is another added amenity to this master bedroom suite.

This is a five-bedroom house, offering plenty of space for family and guests. Three and a half bathrooms also make it very family-friendly. Each bedroom and bath is quietly and elegantly decorated.

The home also contains a finished walk-out basement, adding even more family living space and convenience. Downstairs is a large family room area, a bedroom or office area, and every room in the house is provided with plenty of electrical and cable outlets to allow each room a diversity of uses. An unfinished downstairs space could easily be used for storage or a hobby room.

This home has a two-car garage with an eye-appealing electric garage door with windows. The home's yard currently has some landscaping, but is open to endless landscaping and gardening possibilities. It is priced at $247,500 and can be viewed through ERA Cape Realty, 334-2895.
