New program debuts on KRCU Saturday

A new program called "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" a weekly one-hour quiz show, will begin broadcasting on Southeast Public Radio, 90.9 FM KRCU, at 2 p.m. Saturday. The program takes a fast-paced and irreverent look at the week's news and newsmakers with host Peter Sagal and a group of panelists. Listeners can also participate by calling (888) WAIT-WAIT. The show will air at 2 p.m. every Saturday.

Missouri arts awards to be handed out Feb. 7

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Arts Council's annual Missouri Arts Awards ceremony will be held Feb. 7 in Jefferson City. This year's winners include: Vickie McCalley of Richmond, for arts education; the Missouri Southern International Piano Competition in Joplin for arts organization; the City of Columbia for creative community; Russ RuBert of Springfield for individual artist; Douglass Freed of Sedalia for leadership in the arts; and the Francis Family Foundation in Kansas City for philanthropy. Michael Hayes of St. Louis created the awards that will be presented and Leslie Lumsden of Thayer created the art for the poster, invitation and program. Ticket sales start Monday for The Wiggles

Ticket sales for the Show Me Center's Feb. 21 concert, The Wiggles' "Racing to the Rainbow Live!" start at 10 a.m. Monday. The Australia-based Wiggles are among the worlds biggest children's music groups, with more than 22.5 million videos sold and a show on the Disney Channel. Citizens' Day at the Legislature Feb. 7

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Citizens for the Arts annual Citizens' Day at the Legislature will take place Feb. 7 in Jefferson City. The event is aimed at generating support for public funding of the arts. Paducah Printmakers show at Harwell Museum

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The Paducah Printmakers, a group of artists from Paducah, Ky., will exhibit their works at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum in Poplar Bluff starting Saturday with an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Exhibiting artists include Lorrie Cody, Charlotte Erwin, Char Downs, William F.
