As teens ring in the new year, topics like grades, money and health will be on their minds. Students at Cape Girardeau Central High School and Notre Dame Regional High School took some time out of their lunch period the last week of school before Christmas break to talk with the Southeast Missourian about their resolutions for 2010. Here is what they said:"I'm going to work out every day, or at least try to."
Emily Hulshof, junior, Notre Dame
"I want to finish the entire works of Marcel Proust. He's an existentialists who wrote a seven volume series on existentialism and I think it is the longest novel in circulation known to man. It's translated from French so my New Year's resolution is to finish that at some point throughout the year."
Jack Mocherman, senior, Notre Dame
"Eat right and do more exercise."
Kim Phelps, sophomore, Notre Dame
"I'm going to try and drink a lot less soda and drink more water."
Kaylee Kinder, junior, Notre Dame
"To do good in college and be a better person."
Quanisha Hunt, senior, Central
"I think probably going to sleep earlier because I stay up kinda late getting on Facebook or studying sometimes--usually procrastinating things until the last minute and having to do my homework really late. I need to work on that, getting better sleep cause I'm always tired during the day."
Katherine Rollins, junior, Central
"My New Year's resolution is to not worry about everything else. I need to pay attention to my grades and work harder."
Lawrece Lewis, senior, Central
"Not to be a procrastinator."
Richie White, senior, Central
