Area students receive scholarships

The following local students have been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2014-2015 academic year:

* Jacklyn Allen of Cape Girardeau was awarded the Governor's Scholarship. She is the daughter of Amanda Greenhill and Jay Allen, both of Cape Girardeau, and will be a 2014 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

* Matthew Buttrey of Cape Girardeau was awarded the visual and performing arts scholarship. He is the son of Elizabeth Buttrey of Cape Girardeau and was a 1995 graduate of Notre Dame High School.

* Rachel Curvin of Sikeston, Mo., was awarded the President's Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership award. Curvin is the daughter of Ricky and Larry Powell of Sikeston and will be a 2014 graduate of Sikeston High School.

* Derek Dittlinger of Benton, Mo., was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership award. He is the son of Greg and Diane Ditt-linger of Benton and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.

* Taylor Feeney of Jackson was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. She is the daughter of Chris and Roberta Feeney of Jackson and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.

* Joshua Jansen of Kelso, Mo., was awarded a scholarship.

* Katlyn McCoy of Whitewater was awarded the University Scholarship. She is the daughter of Michelle and Todd McCoy of Whitewater and will be a 2014 graduate of Delta High School.

* Andrew Moore of Benton, Mo., was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. He is the son of Alan and Yvonne Moore of Benton and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.

* Michael Nelson of Cape Girardeau was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. He is the son of Verna and Tom Nelson of Cape Girardeau and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.

* Dalaney Plott of Anna, Ill., was awarded scholarship.

* Kody Roy of McClure, Ill., was awarded the University Scholarship and Midwest Achievement award. He is the son of Tim Roy of McClure and Melissa Boland and was a 2013 graduate of Shawnee High School.

* Anna Marie Siebert of Cape Girardeau was awarded a scholarship.

* Alysha Vessells of Randles was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. She is the daughter of Sherman and Donna Vessells of Randles and will be a 2014 graduate of Delta High School.

* Logan Alexander Villagrana of Cape Girardeau was awarded the Educational Access Programs Merit award and University Scholarship. He is the son of Sam and Dawn Villagrana of Cape Girardeau and will be a 2014 graduate of World Changers Academy.
