"I adore simple pleasures. They are the last refuge of the complex."

~ Oscar Wilde, "The Picture of Dorian Gray"

It is often easy to overlook the small, seemingly simple things. The big picture can be overpowering when trying to tell a story visually. However, sometimes the simple details bring out the most interesting aspects of a topic.

"You must not know too much or be too precise or scientific about birds and trees and flowers and watercraft; a certain free-margin, and even vagueness -- ignorance, credulity -- helps your enjoyment of these things."

I don't purport to know too much. So a simple approach to photography can tell a complex story. Involving too many whistles and bells can derail the emphasis. That being said ... it's probably best to have a little of both: detail and overall.
