A Q&A with the cast and crew of a version of 'Twelve Angry Men,' hitting the stage next week at Notre Dame

"Twelve Angry Jurors" is a drama in which a jury re-examines evidence, re-enacts a crime and attempts to reach a verdict in a case involving a young boy accused of murdering his father.

Notre Dame Regional High School's upcoming production of the play is directed by Cynthia King and will be performed at 7 p.m. Nov. 3, 4 and 5 in the high school's cafetorium. Tickets cost $8 and are available by calling 335-6772, extension 302.

Following is a Q&A with the cast and crew.

Q: What is your favorite line in the play that you speak, and why?

A: "'I'll kill her! I'll kill her!' because for me, it's the most dramatic point in the play. It really decimates the case Juror No. 3 has argued and gives the other characters insight into how angry she can get and how strongly she feels." -- Chelsea Graham, senior, Juror No. 3

A: "'I've had enough! If you open your mouth again I'm going to scratch your eyes out!' It is my character's boiling point and she shows emotion after telling others they shouldn't make it a personal thing." -- Sydney Thuirer, freshman, Juror No. 4

Q: How do you get yourself into character?

A: "I imagine the room is at least 10 degrees warmer, then I think about something that makes me really angry." -- Griffin Patterson, sophomore, Juror No. 10

A: "I focus on my character's motivations for her actions and put myself in her mind so that I want to accomplish what she wants to accomplish." -- Eva Schafer, senior, Juror No. 9

A: "My character has better things to do, so I think about homework or anything else I need to do to put myself in a 'let's hurry this up' mood." -- Jamie Ashworth, freshman, Juror No. 7

A: "I decide how my character stands, sits, speaks and moves. Physically being the character really helps me mentally be the character." -- Abby Ritter, sophomore, Juror No. 12

Q: Why did you want to be in the play?

A: "My older siblings were involved in Notre Dame productions, so it's sort of a family tradition." -- Jadie Stoverink, junior, assistant director

A: "I didn't, so I joined construction crew instead because I like it." -- Kate Glastetter, senior

Q: What have you learned from the experience?

A: "What one person does in a play affects everyone else." -- Kyle Henry, freshman, Guard
